Temptation Beyond Borders

Our story opens with Chili, the tiniest of the flock, eyes shimmering with restless curiosity. “What are those wooden plateaus?” she whispered to no one in particular, her voice trembling with forbidden excitement.

The others had ignored them for months—mere scenery, part of the mundane. But not Chili. Not today.

With a flutter and a hop, Chili crossed the line. She stepped onto the platform. She didn’t just challenge gravity—she challenged fate.

Sugar, ever loyal, ever skeptical, gasped. "You can’t—Chili, it’s—" But it was too late. Chili stood tall, victorious. Nothing had collapsed. Nothing had chased her. She was... fine.

And that’s when it happened. The door. A door that had never been open before… was open.

The barrier moved with a creak that echoed like thunder across the coop. Chili turned and ran. Light poured in like a divine signal.

And there—there, on the other side—were snacks. Scattered like treasure across a foreign land.

Sugar’s feathers bristled. Could it be? Were the legends true? Were those snacks... real? She stepped forward. Once. Twice. Then, emboldened by hunger and glory, she crossed into the unknown. 

Is it safe?

It was a strange new world—slick, cold, uneven. Every step a gamble. Every crumb a reward. The wind carried scents they'd never dared to dream of.

And suddenly, they were three: Sugar, Chili… and the unexpected joiner, Cookie, wings stretched wide, her spirit alight with adventure.

What strangeness we have discovered!

Back at the threshold stood Cocoa, the titan of the coop, matron of order, keeper of the pecking hierarchy. Her eyes narrowed. Her talons clenched. Her pride, immovable. “She’ll come,” they whispered. But she never did.

Her heart thundered as she watched her sisters disappear into a land of danger and promise. But her feet refused to leave the safety of that sweet sweet grass.

Now whispers swirl like feathers on the wind:
